About

What is FLUTD?
Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) is a group of problems associated with the lower urinary tract (bladder and urethra) of cats. The most serious and life threatening complication of FLUTD is urethral obstruction  (UO). The cat is unable to urinate and becomes very ill very rapidly. This is an extremely common emergency seen in cats that is very expensive to treat, but has a good survival rate with proper treatment.

Why FLUTD Fighters?
FLUTD Fighters was started by a group of emergency veterinarians in Austin, Texas who had became progressively more heartbroken over the years from having to euthanize so many young, otherwise healthy cats because their owner's were unable to cover the high costs of treating a cat experiencing urethral obstruction.
Our goal is to provide financial assistance to the owner's of cats that have urethral obstruction and do not have the financial stability to be able to afford the life saving treatment. We also hope to aid in the endeavor to find a cure/prevention for urethral obstruction and to provide education on ways to help prevent FLUTD in our furry feline friends.

DONATE NOW
Your donation goes a long way towards treating a cat experiencing life threatening urethral obstruction and keeping these cats with their loving families.
