"In our darkest moment, FLUTD Fighters gave us hope" Janet Deolloz
Here is Michi's story!
When my sweet boy, Michi, suddenly suffered a urinary blockage, my world stopped. I rushed him to the vet, terrified I might lose him. After an exhausting round of treatment, I thought we were finally in the clear — but just a week later, it happened again.
This time, it was even worse. Michi needed emergency care right away, and I was completely overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty. I felt helpless, not knowing how I could get him the treatment he so desperately needed. I had considered euthanasia to be kind to my boy so he didn't suffer.
That’s when FLUTD Fighters stepped in, and I can say without hesitation that they saved my cat’s life. They worked hand-in-hand with the vet to make sure Michi got the care he needed when he needed it most. In the middle of one of the scariest moments of my life, they gave me hope, compassion, and support.
I am ecstatic to report that Michi is home, healing, and full of life again — and it’s all thanks to the incredible kindness of FLUTD Fighters. They didn’t just help Michi; they saved our little family. I will forever be grateful for their generosity and the second chance they gave us.

Meet the sweetest boy- Domino!
From Domino's mom:
Hi FLUTD Fighters.
First, please let me say again, THANK YOU!!! You stepped in and saved our sweet boy. We will continue to share FLUTD Fighters posts of the fur babies needeing help, and encourage people to donate to your incredible cause!
We adopted Domino in August of 2023 when he was 4 months old. That morning, we had to say goodbye to our precious dog, Boogie, after a long battle with mouth cancer that was inoperable and untreatable due to a severe heart murmur. My daughter and I were devastated. When we left our Vet's office, she begged me to go to Wilco Animal Shelter. I told her we would go look, but needed to grieve a bit before just settling on another pet. The shelter didnt have any small dogs at the time, so we looked at the cats. She found Domino immediately. The shelter had named him Barbie Dream House, which we still laugh about today. We spent time with him, and knew that he was meant to be part of our family. We fostered him for about 6 weeks until his surgery to be neutered. When I picked him up from his surgery, and was handed the official adoption papers, he was officially our Domino. Even though we already had one other cat, Domino completed everything. Our other cat, Chewy, an orange tabby, can be a bit moody at times. He decides when it is time for affection. However, Domino, was instantly a love bug! He loves to snuggle. He loves to be our shadow. He wants to be everyone's friend. He even loved Chewy into loving him!
Chewy developed diabetes several months ago. We almost lost him, but he is already in remission and thriving. It was a stressful time, and Domino knew his big brother wasn't feeling well. As Chewy was healing and diets were changed to protect Chewy, Domino woke up one morning and he was not himself. He wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink, was meowing loudly, and hissing at Chewy. I took him to the animal hospital and learned that his urinary tract was blocked and this was a TRUE emergency. After hearing what needed to be done and the cost, I asked the vet what other options we had because I did not have the financial means to do what she told us needed to be done. She said that if we didn't get him unblocked, that we would lose him in 24-48 hours max and the humane thing to do would be to put him to sleep. We were devastated! Our little 2-year-old love bug! How could we say "goodbye," especially when we adopted him the same day we had to say "goodbye" to our Boogie?!? My daughter was crying. I was just trying to be strong for her. The Vet then said, "There is an organization that is very new, but they may be able to help." That is when she introduced us to FLUTD Fighters! We completed the required paperwork to request financial aide. I wasn't holding onto hope, because I knew that if the entire cost was not covered, we would still have to say goodbye to our Dommie. During the 15-20 minutes while we waited, I prayed. Then the Vet came back in and said, "I have really good news. They are going to cover the full cost of the unblocking surgery and the PU surgery as well." THAT is when I started crying! What a blessing FLUTD Fighters has been to our family! I just do not have words that seem adequate to state just how thankful we are that so many stepped in via FLUTD Fighters and saved our sweet, sweet boy!
Since his surgery, we have learned about micro chip feeders so that Chewy and Domino cannot eat each other's food. Domino has healed so well, and is now back to displaying his full cat Ninja skills. He is snuggling as much as possible, and loving life that has been given back to him.

Meet Ziggy-Mister Personality Plus!
Here is Ziggy's Story as told to us by his mom: Ziggy was brought to me by my parents when he was just a little over a year old. He showed up at their front door one day after his previous owner abandoned him in the Arizona heat. There was no hesitation in my mind and I was determined to give Ziggy a second chance at a better life. Ziggy has been through everything with me from late nights studying turning into early morning shifts, loneliness to meeting my partner, and even sitting with me while I got ready to walk the stage for graduation. Everyone who is fortunate enough to meet Ziggy knows he loves everyone like family and has converted many dog lovers to becoming cat people. Ziggy is a very social 2 year old cat who is not afraid to tell you his every thought and loves to watch movies, chase ice cubes around, and snuggle up with us on his favorite blankets in bed (somehow always taking up 75% of the space). The highlight of my day is coming home from work or class and being greeted by a chorus of meows until I hold him or sit on the couch for mandatory snuggles. Before moving to Austin, Ziggy had a urinary obstruction (UO) that resulted in him needing a catheter and a short stay at a veterinary hospital. While I would do anything for him, this first stay drained my little savings I had after graduating college. His AZ vet told me that I would most likely have to put him down if there was another UO because the surgery was too expensive for me. This broke my heart and after our first week in Austin, my worst nightmare came true. We were prepared to say goodbye to our sweet boy when FLUTD Fighters gave us the life changing news that they would be able to help us pay for Ziggy’s surgery. I am thankful everyday for the FLUTD Fighters team and the doctors who referred us to them… they have given our little fighter another second chance at life and an opportunity to make more memories as both Ziggy and I grow up.
